GRNET Digital Technology Symposium

Digital Technology offers new dimensions for Research and Education

The Greek Research and Technology Network (GRNET) is hosting its Digital Technology Symposium on November 5-6, 2018 at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, on the occasion of marking 20 years of activity in Research and Education and the integration of new actions in the Health sector.

Research, Education, Health and Culture constitute key sectors in the quest for achieving growth and prosperity, thus their modernization and continuous development are essential. GRNET plays a key role in such effort by providing state-of-the-art technologies to all Universities and Technological Educational Institutes, Research Centers, large Public Hospitals, as well as to Museums, Libraries and other cultural institutions. Equally important is the communication and collaboration that GRNET establishes with the relative communities that use  its networking, cloud computing and IT infrastructure and services and provide feedback based on their needs for receiving innovative solutions.

Scientists, researchers and executives of the institutions associated with GRNET are invited to participate in the Symposium. The event lectures, speeches, presentations and open discussions focus on the topics of the present and the future of national and international e-Infrastructures and services, the emerging opportunities and ways of achieving their optimal use. Moreover, issues that are subject to improvements to the benefit of GRNET users will be identified.

Speeches and open discussions shall cover:

  • the present status and future of national and international e-Infrastructures and services;
  • GRNET’s course of action and future plan
  • key activities of the connected to GRNET Institutions’ operation centers;

  • proposals for the improvement and optimal exploitation of GRNET’s e-Infrastructures and services
