Stefanos Kollias, GRNET Chairman and Professor Emeritus, NTUA, was elected as an external member of the Governing Council of the Technical University of Crete during the meeting held on Friday, May 8, 2026, as part of the process to appoint the external members of the institution’s new Governing Council.

The process was conducted in accordance with the provisions of Law 4957/2022 and the applicable Joint Ministerial Decision regarding the election of external members of the Governing Councils of Higher Education Institutions.

 The six elected internal members of the Governing Council of the Technical University of Crete participated in the meeting, while voting took place electronically via the GRNET Computing system for the fair conduct of digital private polls “ZEUS”.
