Description

The project "eSafety-eCreativity Network for Teachers, Parents & Guardians" includes the design and implementation of a holistic learning network to support Digital Readiness.

The project has two objectives:

  1. Supporting Digital Readiness with a focus on cultivating Digital Competences/Digital Literacy of teachers, parents, guardians and mental health professionals.
  2.  Counselling of parents/guardians, teachers and professionals on issues related to the development of digital competencies of children/students, focusing on empathic active listening techniques.

The main benefit of the project is to enhance the safety, creativity, responsibility and confidence of children, young people and adults in relation to new digital technologies.

More specifically, the project will focus on three areas to achieve these objectives:

  • Creating educational material on internet safety issues that can be used by parents, guardians, teachers and health professionals to educate and guide children
  • Developing electronic distance learning e-learning methods for on-line training of teachers and mental health professionals and developing blended learning for parents and guardians
  • Development of a platform for counselling and support on internet addiction and cyberbullying through sessions and free online content.

The main role of GRNET’s participation in the project involves:

  • Coordination of the project
  • Developing original educational material with an emphasis on developing digital skills  that support and guide children appropriately.
