GRNET is a member of the consortium of 38 European research and academic networks that implement and manage the pan-European Research and Academic Network GÉANT.
The GN4-Phase 3 project involves the evolution and operation of the GÉANT backbone network, the implementation and management of the services provided over this network and the interconnected national R&D networks as well as a series of actions for the promotion, dissemination and enhancement of the utilization of the project results.
GRNET participates in the following sectors:
- management and adoption of cloud services by members of R&D networks;
- development and management of Identity and Trust services in the community of R&D networks and their users;
- study of new network technologies for the evolution of R&D networks;
- design and development of procedures and tools for the orchestration and interoperability of electronic infrastructures both with each other and with cloud service providers;
- design, implementation and adoption of tools and functions for monitoring and managing network infrastructures;
- management of project quality and policy issues.
