GR-IX, the Greek Internet Exchange powered by GRNET, actively participated in the 43rd Euro-IX Forum, which took place in Madrid from November 30 to December 2, bringing together key stakeholders from the international Internet Exchange ecosystem.
During the event, GRNET, represented by Vicky Konstantinopoulou, delivered a presentation in the lightning talk session titled “What is a significant incident under NIS2?” Her contribution offered valuable perspectives on the evolving regulatory landscape and the cybersecurity requirements introduced by the NIS2 Directive, underlining the importance of preparedness and resilience for critical network infrastructures across Europe.
The Euro-IX Forum program featured a rich agenda of workshops and sessions addressing some of the most pressing topics shaping the future of IXPs. Participants engaged in discussions and knowledge exchange through Plenary Talks, Panel Discussions, and Lightning Talks focused on:
- IXP commercial and marketing strategies
- General IXP operations
- Strategic evolution of the IXP market
- Regulatory challenges
- Technical operations
- Tools and automation for improved efficiency
- Network operators’ real experiences with IXPs and peering
The event once again served as a vital platform for collaboration, innovation, and best-practice sharing within the European internet Exchange community — reaffirming GR-IX’s ongoing commitment to supporting a robust, competitive, and secure digital infrastructure ecosystem.
