On 29 October 2025, PHAROS: The Greek AI Factory, a project coordinated by GRNET, held the first “AI Ecosystem Engagement Meet Up: Sustainability Sector” at the NCSR Demokritos Main Auditorium. This knowledge-sharing Meet Up brought together representatives from academia, industry, and the public sector to exchange best practices, insights, and perspectives on the Greek Artificial Intelligence (AI) ecosystem, with a dedicated focus on sustainability (energy, environment, and climate).

The day’s Agenda was divided into two distinct parts. 

The first part, held in the morning (10:00–13:30) and open to academia and the wider industry, featured a General Session that brought together over 100 participants. The session highlighted the challenges and opportunities shaping the Greek AI ecosystem and showcased the latest developments that the PHAROS: The Greek AI Factory project was advancing for Greece within the EU context.

The second part – the Sustainability Workshop (14:30–16:00) – was by invitation only and attended by more than 30 representatives from companies active in the sustainability sector, fostering focused and impactful discussions on AI applications in the field. 

Through this Ecosystem Engagement Meet Up, the PHAROS AI Factory Project sought valuable contributions to refine its platform and services, prioritising sustainability-focused (energy, environment & climate) solutions and shaping a framework for future collaboration with companies.
