TechFuse is a two day, annual conference happening for the first time in Greece that bridges technology and innovation with culture.
The conference is co-organized by the Non-Profit “Innovation and Digital Economy Hub” and the C.Ioannina coworking space community, and is endorsed by local and international public and private organisations.
The main objectives of the conference are to:
- Establish Ioannina as the Innovation and Digital Economy Hub of Southeastern Europe
- Contribute to the strengthening and wider development of the local and regional ecosystem
- Foster sustainable development in Epirus and generate significant value for the local community through multiplier effects.
TechFuse Agenda
TechFuse covers issues related to ecosystem development, cutting-edge technologies, the evolution of innovation and entrepreneurship, the impact of technology on society and work, the relationship between technology and culture, broad regional development at an economic and social level.
The agenda is multi-thematic and includes Greek and international speakers from politics, business, the research community, society and culture.
On the second day of the conference, on the 6th of April 2024, from 12:15 – 13:00 the Panel: “How Greece is becoming a smart state?” moderated by Alexandros Melidis, Director of the Open Technologies Alliance (GFOSS), has the following participating panellists:
- Dimitris Papastergiou, Minister of Digital Governance
- Stefanos Kollias, Emeritus Professor of NTUA and Chairman of the Board of Directors of GRNET – National Infrastructures for Research and Technology, operating under the auspices of Ministry of Digital Governance
- Lilian Mitrou, Professor of the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, University of the Aegean
- Cleo Sgouropoulou, Professor of Informatics & Computer Engineering, member of the Board of Directors of the University of West Attica, Founder of UNIWA AI InnoHUB.
Within the framework of the conference, social interactive activities are organised, with the main focus to strengthen culture in Ioannina and Epirus. Free educational seminars for students and professionals who are at the beginning of their careers are also organised.
