The aim of the project is to provide financial assistance for the year 2024 to individuals , regardless of nationality, who stayed in hotels that were evacuated during the forest fires on the island of Rhodes in July 2023.
The benefit that will result from the project’s actions is the financial support of the beneficiaries who had evacuated the hotels of Rhodes in July 2023. At the same time, the local economy will be boosted through the subsidy of accommodation costs during two periods of lower tourist traffic. The financial support includes accommodation for seven (7) consecutive days (6 nights), during the periods from April 10th. 2024 to May 31st. 2024 (1st period-Spring) or from October 1st. 2024 to November 15th. 2024. (2nd period-Autumn).
GRNET will assume the role of project implementer, and in particular the technical design, the implementation of the specific application, as well as the organization of personal and other data from all sources.
The project will be implemented through the following actions:
- Design, Development and Support of the Subsidy Beneficiaries Register and Participating Hotels Register Subsystem
- Design, Development and Support of a specific application of the Single Digital Portal of the Public Administration (gov.gr, SDP) for the submission of applications of the Beneficiaries
- Support for users of the Information System
- Design, organisation and support of the accounting and financial clearance of the payment requests of the participating hotels
- Support, coordination and monitoring of project implementation
"Rodos Week" is implemented by GRNET, and is funded from the tactical budget of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
The service is implemented in cooperation with the Ministries of Tourism, National Economy and Finance and Digital Governance.
