The aim of the project “Intertwin - An Interdisciplinary Digital Twin Engine For Science” is to design and implement a pre-functional prototype of an interdisciplinary digital twin engine.
It is a scalable open source component platform that can implement Digital Twins specifically for applications in multiple scientific domains, and will include core modules for general modelling and simulation tasks.
The benefit of this implementation will be the development of a common approach to the implementation of Digital Twins, applicable to a wide range of disciplines and beyond, which will facilitate progress and collaboration.
The main role of GRNET for the needs of the project is to provide services/infrastructures and expertise in Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning, specifically in:
- Computing Infrastructure Federation ( HPC, Cloud, Quantum)
- Big Data Analytics
The project is implemented under the Horizon Europe Framework Programme (HORIZON),HORIZON RIA HORIZON Research and Innovation Actions.
