Duration

Description

The European project EDSSI – European Digital Student Service Infrastructure focuses on the creation of the EU Student eCard platform that will enable students from all over Europe to use academic e-services (application services, campus services) in a cross-border mobility environment, as well as students to access non-academic services.

The EDSSI project aims to provide an integrated authentication & authorisation infrastructure that will integrate:

a) the identities of the elDAS network

b) the academic identities of the eduGAIN federations

c) an interoperability infrastructure acting as a bridge between European, national, local nodes for academic data exchange and access to services

d) an online platform for Higher Education Institutions serving as an alternative access point to the interoperability infrastructure.

The participation of GRNET S.A., as an associate partner in this project, is of strategic significance, as it involves key partner institutional entities in the field of academic identity, which will create the basis for enabling European students, researchers to use online academic services.  GRNET will transfer its expertise in the field of eIDAS and federated identification and authorisation.
