EOSC-United
Funding
Horizon Europe Framework Programme
Duration
1/9/2025 - 31/8/2028
Description

The EOSC-United project aims to connect and unite the European research community in the EOSC Federation, and to strengthen its establishment and development by leveraging existing technical and scientific expertise.

Specifically, the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) aims to create a research system in Europe through the EOSC Federation that complies with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable),  enabling researchers to share and analyze data across different scientific fields and countries.

The EOSC United project will play a critical role in uniting research communities within this federation.

Through its actions, which implement the vision for open, accessible, and reusable scientific data across Europe, it will benefit EOSC by consolidating its position in future EU framework programs and ensuring its success as a collaborative and sustainable research infrastructure.

The role of GRNET as an affiliated entity of EGI is to ensure that the overall technical architecture of the EOSC Federation and its AAI Architecture evolve by incorporating requirements from EOSC use cases, and that they are validated and approved by EOSC stakeholders.

The actions of GRNET will benefit the EOSC Federation by establishing it as a secure federated service management system that contributes to the guidelines for inclusion in the EOSC Federation Handbook.
