Skills4EOSC: Skills for the European Open Science commons - creating a training ecosystem for Open and FAIR science.
The Greek Open Science Cloud Competence Center (EOSC-GR) whose formulation is currently being driven by GRNET in cooperation with related institutions aspires to build a collaboration with the Greek Open Science ecosystem in a participatory manner. GRNET is one of the key contributors to the ‘National Plan for Open Science’ in Greece and is a founding member of Hellenic Open Science Initiative (HOSI), engaging Greek research, technology and innovation organisations in an Open Science partnership with the goal to implement Open Science policies in the country and support the national representation and contribution to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
The Greek Open Science Cloud Competence Center is developed in the context of Skills4EOSC Project ‘Skills for the European Open Science commons: creating a training ecosystem for Open and FAIR science’ that aims to create a pan-European network of Competence Centers (CC) in order to accelerate the upskilling of European researchers and harmonise the training of new professionals for managing scientific data. Moreover, the coordination of the Greek Competence Center is aligned with the Greek National Digital Skills Academy and more specifically with the GRNET dedicated directorate for Digital Skills.
The Competence Centers (CC) represented by the Skills4EOSC partners play a pivotal role in national plans for Open Science and in the interaction with scientific communities. They also have close access to policy makers and the related funding streams.
The Skills4EOSC CC network drives the co-creation of harmonized trainer accreditation pathways, academic and professional curricula and skills quality assurance, recognition frameworks, and learning material creation methodologies.
