The portal by the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) allowing interested parties to apply for access to AI Factory services is now online.
EuroHPCJU has established 13 AI Factories across Europe with the aim to bolster the continent’s leadership in artificial intelligence (AI). These facilities provide free, customized support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups, offering access to advanced computing power and tailored services to accelerate AI innovation.
The AI Factories are strategically located in Finland, Luxembourg, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Greece, France, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Austria, and Poland.
Each center is equipped with AI-optimized supercomputers and experimental platforms designed to support the development and testing of innovative AI models and applications. By pooling resources from the European Union and participating countries, these factories aim to create a robust, interconnected network that fosters collaboration and drives advancements in various sectors, including healthcare, energy, and climate.
The initiative is part of the EU’s broader strategy to enhance its AI capabilities, ensuring that European researchers, startups, and SMEs have the necessary tools and support to compete globally.
Interested parties can apply for access to these AI Factories through the EuroHPC JU’s link on the portal page, where two access modes are available, each aiming on different field applications: Industrial Innovation (with three access modes, targeting different use cases and compute needs) and Science and Collaborative projects.
The portal also provides a useful link to an overview of services that the AI factories provide, where interested parties can utilize built-in filters to choose the sectors they are interested in to get a selection of AI Factories that focus on those specific sectors.
Interested parties can also fill out a form to consult an expert in case they need specific technical support related to AI Factories, or have any AI Factories-related questions
