The ENVRI-Hub Next project aims to develop an open access data hub and to create an Environmental Research Infrastructure (ENVRI) service framework in order to connect the environmental research community with the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

The project will create a stable technical framework that will strengthen the ENVRI scientific community in order to provide interdisciplinary services. These services will support climate change research, including the development of adaptation measures, strategies and assessment of climate change risks.

Furthermore, the project will also facilitate the integration of the environmental science community into the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). It will push the boundaries of environmental sciences by encouraging synergies between ENVRIs and by developing and using complementary information for data utilisation and service provision. Collaboration between ENVRIs and e-Infrastructures will enable environmental science to leverage advanced information systems, align with the EOSC architecture, and efficiently allocate resources to promote a more integrated, productive, and globally competitive scientific community in the Environmental Research Infrastructure (ENVRI) research infrastructure system.

The role of GRNET will be to provide and support authentication and authorization services (AAI), as well as to merge the R&D landscape in order to develop synergies and integrate a set of pan-European research infrastructures.

The project is implemented under the European Horizon Europe Framework Programme (HORIZON), with 100% funding from the EU.
