HellasQCI, a project coordinated by GRNET – National Infrastructures for Research and Technology (Greek NREN), operating under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Digital Governance, participated at the prestigious TNC24 GÉANT conference in Rennes, France. TNC24 is the largest R&E Networking Conference in Europe with over 800 attendees from around the world and over 40 sessions across 3 days.
Dr. Ilias Papastamatiou, Project Coordinator of HellasQCI at GRNET, and Assoc. Prof. George Kanellos, Technical Coordinator of HellasQCI at NTUA, engaged in productive dialogue with representatives from several National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) involved in their respective National Quantum Communication Infrastructures (NatQCIs). These discussions included participants from Poland’s PSNC (Pionier-Q), Ireland’s HEAnet (IrelandQCI), Hungary’s KIFU (QCIHungary), and Cyprus’ CYNET (CYQCI) and focused on the technical challenges, the solutions and the future collaborations of the NatQCIs and the NRENs for the deployment of the national quantum key distribution networks. These further underscore the collective effort and commitment of the NRENs to advance quantum communication technologies, ensuring a secure and interconnected EuroQCI.
