GRNET participates in GRNOG 19

GRNET, a committed supporter of GRNOG — the Greek Network Operators Group — participates in the 19th annual GRNOG meeting on 12 December 2025 at the National Library of Greece, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. 

GRNET will join a broad community of network professionals, researchers and Internet-infrastructure stakeholders with discussions about standards, emerging technologies and best practices, and collaboration opportunities between service providers, research networks and academic institutions. 

During GRNOG 19, GRNET will engage with peers in a series of talks and sessions focusing on topics such as:

  • Developments in Greek and global Internet infrastructure and history — including the pivotal role of academic and research networks in Greece’s digital evolution 
  • Network security and data protection — Vicky Konstantinopoulou from GRNET will present the session “Cybersecurity and Data Protection: cooperation as a pillar of trust”, emphasizing the need for collaboration to strengthen trust and resilience across the Greek Internet ecosystem. 
  • Emerging technological challenges and opportunities — including preparedness for the post-quantum era, in the session: “Quantum-Ready or Quantum-Risky? The Post-Quantum Era for Network Operators”
  • IXP / peering and Internet-exchange developments — updates from regional IXPs and interconnection/cloud services 
  • Automation, modern network infrastructure management, virtual labs, and more  — reflecting GRNOG’s broader scope on network design, operation, and best practices. 

With its active presence at GRNOG 19, GRNET reaffirms its commitment to support and contribute to the growth, security and evolution of Greece’s Internet infrastructure.
