Announcement: HellasQCI: 3rd Training Event “Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Cyber Security”

The European co-funded project HellasQCI is continuing its successful series of training events by launching the 3rd Training Event on “Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Cyber Security.” This training will take place on September 4-5, 2024, in Crete, Greece.

Purpose of the training

The purpose of this event is to train the new generation of engineers in quantum technologies and cybersecurity, so that Greece is ready for the operation of the European Quantum Communications Infrastructure – EuroQCI. The training focuses on Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems, Cybersecurity and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) issues.

Audience

The target audience of the training event includes: Cybersecurity professionals, computer scientists and engineers, as well as students, researchers and academics working in the fields of optical and quantum technologies, as well as representatives from the Optical and Quantum Technologies Industry. The training will feature presentations from National Quantum Communications Infrastructure (NatQCIs) Projects from across Europe.

Logistics

The event will run in a hybrid mode thus the participants may register and choose the preferable way to attend. The registration is mandatory for logistics reasons. 

The event venue is located on the premises of the Foundation For Research And Technology – Hellas (FORTH), in Heraklion, Crete.

About HellasQCI

The European co-funded project “HellasQCI – Deploying advanced national QCI systems and networks in Greece”, is coordinated by GRNET – Τhe National Infrastructures for Research and Technology, (GRNET) which operates under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Digital Governance. The project consists of 13 consortium partners and, at this stage, is currently running the second half of its life cycle. The HellasQCI project, deployed in the wider framework of the EuroQCI (European Quantum Communication Infrastructure) initiative, aims to develop the National Network of Quantum Communication Infrastructures to enhance the resilience of critical infrastructures in Greece against cyber threats.
