GRNET, coordinator of HellasQCI project that aims to deploy advanced national Quantum Communication Infrastructure systems & networks in Greece, participated in the PETRUS project and EU Commission meeting in Brussels, Belgium, on June 7th, in order to meet with the other NatQCI coordinators to discuss on the way forward for EuroQCI during the period 2024-2026.
On behalf of HellasQCI, Dr. Ilias Papastamatiou, Senior Project Manager at GRNET and HellasQCI Project Coordinator, and Dr. George Kanellos, NKUA Prof. and HellasQCI Technical Coordinator, participated in the discussions on the future of EuroQCI and the challenges ahead.
The discussions included the following topics:
- People aspects, Skills and Knowledge necessary for EuroQCI,
- Processes, in order to design, implement and manage EuroQCI, including Service Delivery, Security, Accreditation, and Testing,
- Platforms required, in order to deliver the EuroQCI service,
- Providers: in order to deliver QKD services, QKD needs to come out of the academic labs and be implemented by service providers,
- Products: every platform needs the underlying products in place to build it, meeting the standards defined.
