{"id":18514,"date":"2024-11-11T13:18:07","date_gmt":"2024-11-11T11:18:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grnet.gr\/?post_type=wpbdp_listing&#038;p=18514"},"modified":"2024-11-11T13:44:11","modified_gmt":"2024-11-11T11:44:11","slug":"echoes","status":"publish","type":"wpbdp_listing","link":"https:\/\/grnet.gr\/en\/business-directory\/echoes\/","title":{"rendered":"European Cloud for Heritage Open Science (ECHOES)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/grnet.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/ECHOES_Banner-1024x215.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18515\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:14px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The European Cloud for Heritage Open Science (ECHOES) project <strong>aims<\/strong> to establish the Cultural Heritage Cloud (or European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage -ECCCH), a shared platform to provide heritage professionals and researchers with access to data, scientific resources, training, and advanced digital tools tailored to suit their needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funded by the European Commission and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), ECHOES will bring together fragmented communities of the Cultural Heritage field into a new community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project will <strong>benefit<\/strong> the research community by surpassing basic digitisation, aiming to spark a transformation in the field through a holistic approach. It will integrate existing knowledge about tangible and intangible heritage artefacts, creating a collaborative digital environment for analysing heritage assets, facts, and phenomena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>objectives<\/strong> of ECHOES are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create an open-source infrastructure that will allow the creation of practical applications driven by the needs of heritage professionals, both for their tangible and intangible assets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design a sustainable, open and evolving legal entity to handle the development, implementation and maintenance of the platform.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a community that includes all heritage stakeholders and guides the development of the infrastructure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrate past, current and future European projects in the field of cultural heritage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enable and promote innovative, collaborative new knowledge creation around new Digital Commons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>main role of GRNET<\/strong> as an affiliated entity of EGI for the needs of the project, concerns the Authentication and Authorisation Infrastructure (AAI) that utilises the EGI Check-in service to allow secure access to data available in the CH cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details list-title is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary><strong><u>Participating Partners in the project:<\/u><\/strong><\/summary>\n<p class=\"list-item\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnrs.fr\/en\">CENTRE NATIONAL DE LA RECHERCHE SCIENTIFIQUE CNRS<\/a> (Coordinator) &#8211;
