The EBSI Node Expansion (EBSI-NE) project is a key part of Europe’s digital evolution, focusing on expanding the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI). This initiative aims to strengthen EBSI by adding 18 new validator nodes, increasing its capacity and robustness. This move is a significant step in enhancing Europe’s blockchain technology, driving its adoption across the continent. EBSI-NE offers specialised support services for all stakeholders, positioning Europe as a leader in blockchain innovation and contributing to a more connected, secure, and technologically advanced digital landscape in Europe.

More specifically, the role of GRNET includes:<\/p>\r\n

\u25cf Implementation of EBSI nodes in the production environment using infrastructure that not only meets the technical requirements of EBSI, but ensures the reliability and security of the network.<\/p>\r\n

\u25cf Providing nationwide customised technical support, offering helpdesk services, support tools and training that will contribute to the strengthening of EBSI at a national level. \u00a0<\/p>\r\n

The EBSI consortium consists of organisations from 15 European countries, including governmental organisations, public institutions and academia, which have an extensive experience related to EBSI ecosystem initiatives, including the development of pre-production nodes.<\/p>\r\n

The project is funded by the Digital Europe Programme, under the proposal DIGITAL-2022-DEPLOY-02: “Proposal for the deployment of EBSI production nodes and provision of support services to EBSI network at the european level”, with 50% funding from the European Commission and 50% from the Greek Ministry of Digital Governance.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
