{"id":11911,"date":"2022-03-23T08:23:55","date_gmt":"2022-03-23T08:23:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/32478000127141257.blog.com.gr\/?post_type=wpbdp_listing&#038;p=11911"},"modified":"2022-10-25T08:40:13","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T08:40:13","slug":"operations-of-a-data-hubrelay","status":"publish","type":"wpbdp_listing","link":"https:\/\/grnet.gr\/en\/business-directory\/operations-of-a-data-hubrelay\/","title":{"rendered":"Operations of a Data Hub Relay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The \u201c<b>Operations of a Data Hub Relay<\/b>\u201d project is part of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.copernicus.eu\/en\">\u00a0<span class=\"s2\">Copernicus<\/span><\/a>\u00a0Earth observation programme, implemented by the European Space Agency (ESA) on behalf of the European Union.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Under this programme, there is a network of Data Hub Relays (DHRs) facilitating the mass transfer of COPERNICUS Earth observation satellite data from ESA operation centres to National Mirror Sites. The existing DHRs are operating in the United Kingdom, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic and Norway. The main objective of the project is to support and facilitate the mass delivery of Copernicus satellite data from the ESA operated hubs to the National Mirror Sites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">This DHR\u00a0 \u2013 Greek Relay Hub with an estimated start of implementation around the end of 2020, will mainly serve the national mirror site\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sentinels.space.noa.gr\/\"><span class=\"s2\">https:\/\/sentinels.space.noa.gr\/<\/span><\/a>, which is also jointly operated by GRNET and ESA since 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">GRNET participates as a subcontractor to the National Observatory of Athens and is responsible to provide the necessary infrastructure to host a Data Hub Relay \u201cas a service\u201d for 18 months in Greece.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">GRNET is responsible to provide infrastructure storage, network access for data sharing without backlog\u00a0 accumulation to the national Mirror site and the other DHRs, as well as sufficient compute resources to avoid operating interruptions of the Greek Relay Hub.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The project is implemented by the National Observatory of Athens (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.noa.gr\/en\/\"><span class=\"s2\">NOA<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u2013 main contractor) in collaboration with GRNET (<a href=\"https:\/\/grnet.gr\/\"><span class=\"s2\">GRNET S.A.<\/span><\/a>), which acts as a subcontractor.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The \u201cOperations of a Data Hub Relay\u201d project is part of the\u00a0Copernicus\u00a0Earth observation programme, implemented by the European Space Agency (ESA) on behalf of the European Union.
