\nThe European project eThemisID<\/a> is being implemented by the Consortium consisting of the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), the Hellenic Council of the State, Uni Systems, Open Technologies Alliance (GFOSS), and GRNET \u2013 National Infrastructures for Research and Technology. ICCS has been appointed as the project coordinator.
\nThe purpose of the project is to link the Integrated Administrative Court Case Management System (IACCMS) to the eIDAS node in order to extend the possibility of direct and easy access to the greek administrative justice electronic services to lawyers established in EU Member States (under the conditions laid down by national law in transposition of the Council of the European Communities Directive 77\/249\/EEC of 22 March 1977 (OJ L 078, 26.3.1977, p.17)), to EU citizens and to legal entities having their registered office in an EU Member State. During deployment, the DSI and eSignature digital infrastructure services will be interconnected with the IT system of the Greek Administrative Justice so that the eIDAS identity and electronic signature can be certified across borders.
\nAt the same time, eThemisID<\/a> will support the digital signature and validation functions (eSeal) for all electronic documents issued by the Council of State, the General Committee of administrative courts and all administrative courts, which are either produced by the IACCMS in an automated manner (such as, for example, documents that certify that a legal document has been lodged or certain categories of certificates) or drawn up by members of the Court or its secretariat. It is worth noting that the above mentioned possibilities of eSeal will meet the relevant needs of the Council of State, the General Committee of the Administrative Courts of State, as well as the 9 Administrative Courts of Appeal and the 30 Administrative Courts of First Instance.
\nThe project will be based on an open source toolkit, which will be prepared and will be made available for other organizations wishing to utilize the eIDAS compliant service.
\nThe project is co-financed by the European Union, the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) and the Connecting Europe Action (CEF Telecom) and is expected to be completed in July 2021.
