GRNET<\/b> participates in the \u201cAI & Ethics: Challenges & Perspectives\u201d conference, being held on <\/span>Friday<\/b>,<\/span> 20 February 2026<\/b>, at the Serafeio Athletic & Community Complex in Athens.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. D. Katsianis<\/b>, Deputy Chairman of GRNET and Assistant Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (<\/span>NKUA<\/span><\/a>), participates in the panel discussion \u201cBuilding the Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem,\u201d highlighting GRNET\u2019s role in advancing Artificial Intelligence and digital innovation through the development of interoperable high-performance computing (HPC), data and networking infrastructures that support AI applications. In this context, he will present key national and European initiatives coordinated by GRNET, including <\/span>PHAROS AI Factory<\/span><\/a>, the national high-performance computing system \u201c<\/span>DAEDALUS<\/span><\/a>\u201d and the associated Data Center at the Lavrion Technological and Cultural Park, as well as the <\/span>second national supercomputing system<\/b>, Greece\u2019s first AI-optimised supercomputer, to be installed at the Green Data Center under development at the University of Western Macedonia in Kozani.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u03a4he conference focuses on the rapidly expanding role of Artificial Intelligence in society, and addresses key ethical challenges related to equality, transparency, human rights and psychological impact.\u00a0 Technology experts, academia, policymakers and civil society promote responsible and inclusive AI practices in order to strengthen collaboration between public policy, the market and technology.\u00a0 Discussions include responsible, transparent and trustworthy AI systems keeping human values at core.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Organised by<\/span> KEAN<\/span><\/a> and<\/span> Diversity Charter Greece<\/span><\/a>, in collaboration with<\/span> DAEM<\/span><\/a>, the<\/span> Municipality of Athens<\/span><\/a> and the<\/span> National Technical University of Athens<\/span><\/a>, under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, and supported by institutional, academic and business partners.<\/span><\/p>\n
