GRNET S.A. (National Infrastructures for Research and Technology) had an active presence at the <\/span>8th Health IT Conference<\/b>, held on<\/span> October 30 <\/b>& <\/span>31<\/b>,<\/span> 2025<\/b>, at the <\/span>OTE Academy<\/b> Amphitheatre. The conference was centered around the theme \u201cDesigning the Digital Health Care Ecosystem in the AI Era.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

GRNET was represented at the conference by two of its executives, who contributed to a thematic session on \u201cThe Digital Transformation of the National Health System in the Context of the EU Digital Decade 2030.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Kollias, GRNET Chairman, Prof. Emeritus at NTUA<\/span>, participated in the roundtable discussion on \u201cFrom Health Data to Artificial Intelligence Services\u201d, where he focused on national data infrastructures and AI services that enable the transition to a smart, sustainable, and human-centered health system.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Lokana, Head of the Directorate of Digital Transformation and Digital Competencies<\/span> at GRNET, took part in the roundtable on \u201cDigital Literacy of Patients, Caregivers, and Health Professionals\u201d, highlighting the importance of education, empowerment and digital maturity of professionals who provide health services (doctors, nurses, etc.) and also of citizens who receive the services and support patients.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    GRNET\u2019s participation at the Health IT Conference underscored its pivotal role in implementing the National Strategy for Digital Health. Through the deployment of open data infrastructures, high-performance computing resources, and AI tools, GRNET supports both scientific research and the continuous improvement of healthcare services in Greece.<\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

    The 8th Health IT Conference, now a cornerstone event for the digital health sector in Greece, explored the latest developments and future prospects of artificial intelligence (AI) and health data in the country\u2019s digital transformation. Greece stands to benefit from the opportunities offered by the European Health Data Space (EHDS), which aims to create an integrated health ecosystem through common standards, clear regulations, and shared infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n

    This year\u2019s conference focused on advancing the National Health System by harnessing AI, data, and modern technologies. The goal was to foster a sustainable and innovative future for digital health in Greece through open dialogue, collaboration, and consensus-building among all stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Key topics discussed included the integration of cutting-edge tools such as AI, as well as the secure use and exchange of health data. These advances are crucial for boosting competitiveness, promoting innovation, and facilitating cross-border cooperation, all while significantly improving service quality. The outcomes aim to enhance early diagnosis, more effective disease management, and the promotion of preventive medicine and public health across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n
