This effort marks a major milestone toward achieving the European Union\u2019s Digital Decade goals by 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Kick-Off Meeting of the Aptitude project took place on <\/span><b>22<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013<\/span><b>23 October 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in <\/span><b>Paris<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, marking the official launch of a landmark European collaboration for the development of the <\/span><b>European Digital Identity Wallet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (EUDIW). The two-day event brought together over 300 participants representing 117 public and private sector organizations across 11 EU Member States \u2014 France (project coordinator), Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Hungary \u2014 as well as Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through a rich and dynamic agenda featuring eight key presentations, eight pilot use case workshops and live demonstrations, a Steering Committee meeting, and multiple networking sessions, partners aligned on the project\u2019s strategic roadmap and next steps. The discussions reflected a strong spirit of cooperation, innovation, and shared purpose, setting a solid foundation for the project\u2019s successful implementation across Europe.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Aptitude project seeks to make citizens\u2019 everyday lives easier, safer, and faster by enabling a single digital identity for multiple applications. Through real-life pilot use cases \u2014 <\/span><b>Digital Travel Credentials<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Ticketing <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&amp;<\/span><b> Check<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;<\/span><b>in<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Mobile Vehicle Registration Certificate<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and<\/span><b> Payments <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&amp;<\/span><b> Banking<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 the project will test the European Digital Identity Framework in key areas such as travel, transportation and financial services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Citizens will be able to travel and check in using digital credentials instead of physical documents, make secure electronic and physical payments with strong authentication, and seamlessly access services such as banking, vehicle registration, and transport, all while maintaining full control over their personal data. A central pillar of the project is ensuring that the Digital Identity Wallet remains human-centric, secure, interoperable, and fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), giving citizens full control over their personal data and ensuring the highest privacy and security standards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Greece participates in the Aptitude consortium, alongside the following partner organizations: Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, National Infrastructures for Research and Technology (GRNET), Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, Avra Tours S.A., Cyclades Fast Ferries Shipping Company, Fraport Greece, Giovanti Travel, PIRAEUS PLUS, TKC KOLECTION and University of the Aegean.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Aptitude project runs for 24 months (October 2025 \u2013 September 2027) and is co-funded by the European Commission under the Digital Europe Programme, which supports the development and implementation of the European Digital Identity Wallet.
