The event gathered participants from 14 National Quantum Communication Infrastructure (NatQCI) projects and experts from 17 countries, providing a platform to exchange experiences, showcase progress in <\/span><b>Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) networks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and reflect on the broader objectives of the <\/span><b>EuroQCI initiative<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event served as a dynamic platform for the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu\/en\/policies\/european-quantum-communication-infrastructure-euroqci\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EuroQCI<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> community to exchange experiences, share lessons learned, and explore new avenues for collaboration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HellasQCI was represented by <\/span><b>Dr. Ilias Papastamatiou<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (GRNET, Project Coordinator) and <\/span><b>Prof. George Kanellos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NKUA, Technical Coordinator).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The discussions focused on:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Real-world pilot implementations and testbeds<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including key successes and challenges.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Technical hurdles<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, vendor coordination, regulatory aspects, and integration with existing classical infrastructure.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Tools, processes, and practices<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to support deployment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Future plans for <\/span><b>cross-border connections<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and ensuring compatibility across Europe, including the EuroQCI CEF proposals.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Papastamatiou (GRNET) spoke at session \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Future QCI network plans across Europe<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d, where he engaged with fellow NatQCI coordinators on the roadmap for the next phase of EuroQCI.
