Moreover, special emphasis will be given to code parallelization, capable of utilizing clusters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Target audience<\/strong>: postgraduate students and PhD candidates dealing with scientific calculations requiring processing speed and significant memory space<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Workshop Location<\/strong>: on-site at NTUA School of Chemical Engineering (PC-Lab)<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Participation cost<\/strong>: Free of charge<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Language<\/strong>: Greek<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main topics of the Workshop are:<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>the SPMD (Single Program Multiple Data) parallel programming model and how it is implemented using the communication protocol MPI (Message Passing Interface),<\/li>\n<li>the operation and architecture of GPUs (Graphics Processing Unit) as well as their use for large-scale computing through the parallel computing platform CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) and<\/li>\n<li>parallel programming with OpenMP which enables serial programs to be parallelized using compiler directives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prerequisites<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Familiarity with Linux<\/li>\n<li>Basics\/principles of programming (C or FORTRAN is preferred).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Workshop is sponsored by EuroCC@Greece.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Registration Deadline, June 25th, 2025.
