GRNET is proud to be part of the newly launched <\/span>RI-SCALE<\/b> project, an EU-funded project that brings together 29 partners across Europe to tackle challenges in research data exploitation. Coordinated by the <\/span>EGI Foundation<\/span><\/a>, the project officially started on <\/span>March 1, 2025<\/b>, and will run until <\/span>February 2028<\/b>. RI-SCALE aims to develop cutting-edge <\/span>Data Exploitation Platforms (DEPs)<\/b> to enhance the accessibility, usability, and impact of research data across multiple scientific domains.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kickoff Meeting in Amsterdam<\/b><\/p>\n

The project was officially launched during a <\/span>Kickoff Meeting at Amsterdam Science Park from March 11 to 13, 2025<\/b>. This gathering marked the beginning of a collaborative effort to co-design and validate <\/span>AI-ready platforms<\/b>, integrating advanced <\/span>data analytics, machine learning models, and scalable computational frameworks<\/b> to unlock the full potential of research infrastructures\u2019 datasets.<\/span><\/p>\n

GRNET\u2019s Contribution to RI-SCALE<\/b><\/p>\n

As a key partner in the project, GRNET will contribute to access management and accounting\u00a0 technologies . Our expertise in providing authentication, authorisation and accounting solutions will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of this project.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through its participation, GRNET\u00a0 aims to drive innovation in\u00a0 access management and accounting\u00a0 technologies for the Data Exploitation Platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why RI-SCALE Matters<\/b><\/p>\n

The ability to extract value from big data is becoming increasingly important as Research Infrastructures (RIs) generate ever-growing datasets. However, barriers such as limited computational resources and interoperability challenges hinder their reuse and impact. RI-SCALE\u2019s Data Exploitation Platforms will bridge this gap, offering scalable, AI-ready solutions that will empower researchers to conduct transformative studies in fields such as climate science, atmospheric physics, biobanking, and biomedical imaging.<\/span><\/p>\n
