{"id":15980,"date":"2023-12-08T15:01:01","date_gmt":"2023-12-08T15:01:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/grnet.gr\/?p=15980"},"modified":"2023-12-08T15:01:01","modified_gmt":"2023-12-08T15:01:01","slug":"eu-commission-quantum-technologies-declaration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grnet.gr\/en\/2023\/12\/08\/eu-commission-quantum-technologies-declaration\/","title":{"rendered":"European Commission welcomes the European Declaration on Quantum Technologies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On December 5th, 2023, in the presence of European Commissioner for Internal Market Thierry Breton, the Spanish Presidency issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu\/en\/library\/european-declaration-quantum-technologies\">declaration<\/a> to strengthen collaboration among Member States and with the Commission on the development of a world-class quantum technology ecosystem across Europe. The declaration recognises the strategic importance of quantum technologies for the scientific and industrial competitiveness of the EU.<\/p>\n<p>11 Member States have endorsed the declaration (with the anticipation for more Members to join) and have pledged to work together with the Commission on a number of key areas, including coordination of European, national regional research and development programmes, accelerating the transition from lab to fab, building pan-European quantum infrastructures, including the European Quantum Communication Infrastructure (<a href=\"https:\/\/digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu\/en\/policies\/european-quantum-communication-infrastructure-euroqci\">EuroQCI<\/a>) Initiative.
