National Infrastructures for Research and Technology – GRNET S.A. emerged as the Greek institution with the largest share of participation in the Digital Innovation Hubs. The evaluation was completed by the European Commission, in the context of the public tender for the creation of a Network of European Digital Innovation Hubs – EDIHs.
GRNET participates in two Hubs, which received high grades during the evaluation procedure: a. As the main partner and coordinator in the Digital Innovation Hub GR digiGOV – innoHUB which aims to create a new generation of Public services for citizens and businesses, utilizing advanced Digital Technologies (AI, mobile Internet, 5G, HPC, IoT, Cloud), as well as b. in the SmartAttica Hub, coordinated by the National Center for Research in Natural Sciences (NCSR) “Demokritos” with the objective of utilizing Artificial Intelligence in the fields of Energy, Transport, Culture and Tourism.
The Hubs will support businesses -especially small and medium enterprises- and Public Sector bodies in their digital transition, providing access to technical expertise and experimentation, as well as pilot projects that will be implemented with open standards and open software in the context of the action “test before invest”. Moreover, they will provide innovation services, such as funding consultancy, training and development of required skills.
Participation in the Digital Innovation Hubs will highlight and further enhance GRNET’s contribution in the creation of digital governance services, contributing to the wider development of the innovation ecosystem in Greece.
